Bridge project

When building my bridge, I will use the tooth picks to build it. it will be twelve inches long and three inches wide. The problem with the bridge is that I have to build a bridge that will hold up to at least forty pounds. The bridge will at least be about three inches tall too along with the top part of the bridge is going to be eight inches long. I will be using the toothpicks and cutting them so they will be the sizes I want them to be. Also, the toothpicks will be shaped into triangles.

In the article ,"trouble with iPhone 5s's fingerprint reader " by Christina Bonnington explains how the iPhone 5 fingerprint scanning is have some malfunctioning problems. It is stated that if the home button is scuffed or damaged in anyway, then of course the program will not be working properly. It's because the home button is where you are putting you're fingerprint on so that it can read your print but once it is damaged it'll be difficult for the home button to read your fingerprint. The makers of the iPhone 5 S don't know why it's causing the trouble for people but they have suggested one of the causes. Anyways they've had to put these special materials in order for the home button to read the fingerprint clearly enough. In conclusion, if you are planning to buy the iPhone with the fingerprint scanner, then you have to make sure that you will not damage that home button.

Egg Drop Summary Conclusion

The thing I liked most about this project is that I got to experience how to build something with a partner I feel comfortable working with. My egg drop project didn't succeed, but I think what would've made it succeed and land perfectly would be adding another piece of cloth or two underneath the egg. Some other ideas from other people might have helped us because I see some people putting a layer of string on the bottom of the base and that could have also helped the egg stay inside. Additional materials such as a push pin helped hold the cloth, that was supposed to hold the egg, in place. Unfortunately it wasn't listed as part of the materials we could have used, so instead, we used the paper clips. We would unwind them and then wrap them around the straws. Last of all, working with Tobias is great because he came in handy. He gave me some ideas and got me materials whenever he saw me running out. He also came up with the paperclip idea that was really helpful. Tobias is someone who I can work with and he can give very good ideas.

Design Process: Egg Drop Project

The problem of this project is that the supplies are turned upside down when landing and then the supplies break. It also has a high speed of impact when landing which also causes the supplies to break. The people who asks for the supplies to land safely is the U.S. Army. The Army wants a model that has directional control and an impact that absorbtion system for the cargo. We have a $50 budget to build the project, so we are limited to what we can build the model with.

Karen's Reflection: First Three weeks of Highschool

For the first three weeks here at South El Monte, I didn't really feel welcomed at all. The teachers are nice and I  feel like I don't have anyone close to me like I did at my middle school. I have a sister who's a senior right now and she's trying to teach me how to do things on my own and help me with other things. For example, she knows I don't like to socialize with other people so she helps introduce myself to her friends. But sometimes, I'd feel comfortable that I can still hang with some of my other friends form middle school. I noticed that some of my friends still help me out whenever they have the chance, but my some of my other friends aren't with me anymore like they use to be and that makes me feel so sad. I don't like how high school can change people. Although change is good, it can also be bad. Anyways, I think that some of my classes are challenging, but I believe that is just one step closer to my bright future I will accomplish.
I kind of like Industrial Tech Core because it has projects you can do in a group and there's no homework sometimes; just only when you don't finish class work. But I think that this class helps you get to know how to do things on your own when you want to create something new. I know how much today's world and society is based and focuses on technology and this class will help me be prepared for that world.
